Self-Organization of Block Copolymers

 

Because of their block architecture, block copolymers can self-assemble into a variety of different morphologies. Variation of block length allows to adjust the topology and size of these structures on a scale between 1 nm and and 10 ?m. We investigate the relation between polymer architecture and self-assembly.

We study the self-assembly of polymers in complex systems and investigate routes to functional materials in the fields of nano-technology and life-science. A key issue is the controlled interfacing of soft materials with solid state and biological systems.
